Will Kaliyuga end in 2025 ?

Kaliyuga is the 4th and last Yuga of the Yuga cycle. According to ancient Hindu texts it is supposed to last 432,000 years or 1200 divine years. But it is written in "Bhavishya Malika" that the Kaliyuga will end within 2025 to 2030.

The Cycle Of Four Yugas :

According to Hindu mythology there are 4 yugas - Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga. This Yuga cycle repeats and after Kaliyuga, Satya Yuga comes back again. It is said to be the worst Yuga among all. After each Yuga the cruelty rises and human spirituality, devotion towards the almighty God decreases.

In order to understand the beginning of Kaliyuga, the story of Mahabharata is very important. The Kurukshetra War ended in 3140 BCE. It is said that three to four months after the war, the Kali Yuga began. According to Hindu Puranas Kaliyuga will last for 432,000 years. So if we follow this calculation the Yuga has been running for approximately 5000 years and the end is mathematically not possible in 2025.

However some people believe that according to Bhavishya Malika, Kaliyuga will end between 2025 - 2030. It is also said in the book that Lord Vishnu’s final avatar of the Yuga cycle, the Kalki avatar has already been born. The idea that the Kaliyuga ending in 2025 is a result of misconceptions, modern interpretations, or the beliefs of particular spiritual groups who support a major shift in human consciousness. Some supporters of this concept, who feel that 2025 symbolizes a major turning point, might be depending on astrological occurrences or spiritual revelations.

One popular theory holds that 2025 may not actually represent the end of Kaliyuga, but rather the start of a transitional period marked by a change in public consciousness that will eventually cause the monster Kali’s negative effects to decrease. This theory is consistent with the idea that time is cyclical and that, even during the dark age, there may be brief bursts of enlightenment before the yuga actually ends.

According to some spiritual teachers and astrologers, some significant cosmic events like planetary alignments or eclipses, may cause a change in the planet's energy and bring in an age of spiritual awakening. Such events are frequently seen as indicators of an upcoming significant change. However that the Kaliyuga will end as a result of these happenings is still hypothetical.

Lord Vishnu’s Kalki Avatar :

Lord Vishnu is called the protector in the Hindu mythology. In each Yuga, Lord Vishnu takes the form of an avatar or incarnation in order to restore and protect Dharma whenever the world is threatened by evil or destructive force. Lord Vishnu previously took the form of Matsya (fish), Kurma (tortoise), Varaha (boar), Narasimha (half man, half lion), Vamana (dwarf), Parashurama, Rama, Krishna and Budhha. Lord Vishnu will reincarnate as his final avatar Kalki at the end of Kaliyuga. Kalki Avatar will kill the monster Kali and Kaliyuga will also come to an end.

Conclusion :

In conclusion, there is no evidence in the ancient Hindu texts to support the theory that Kaliyuga would end in 2025. It seems uncertain that 2025 will be considered the end of the Yuga. The discussion around 2025, might serve as a reminder that change is always possible and that society's spiritual progress depends heavily on human consciousness. Whether Kaliyuga ends in 2025 or not, it is important to pursue morality and spiritual development to live an ethical life and make the world a better place.
